Unisensor AG Announces Joint Venture Agreement with the SHL Group

Unisensor AG announced today that it has completed signing a joint venture agreement with the SHL Group. Unisensor AG has extensive experience in the catheter market and the SHL Group offers modern contract manufacturing facilities in Asia, the capability for high volume production, as well as ISO certification for medical applications worldwide.
Under the terms of the agreement, Unisensor AG will bring state-of-the-art patented technology and R&D capabilities for the development of next generation disposable products. “We are very excited about this joint venture and feel that it will allow us to provide customers with high quality innovative products in large volumes” said Peter Schlumpf, Unisensor’s Managing Director. SHL’s President & Chief Executive Officer, Roger Samuelsson commented further by saying, “The synergies for the SHL-Unisensor JV will allow us to secure market leadership for disposable medical applications. Unisensor acquired Sentron Europe from Priva

Today, the Swiss based Unisensor AG acquired Sentron Europe BV (Roden, the Netherlands) from Priva Holding BV (de Lier, the Netherlands).

Sentron Europe is active in development, manufacturing and selling of sensors and sensor related products based on semiconductor technology. The company’s main products are pH sensors, pressure sensors and Ion sensors. The pH sensors are based on Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor (ISFET) technology. These ISFET pH probes are entirely glassless. The ISFET sensors are sold to the OEM market and (as final products) to the analytical dealer market.

Unisensor is a manufacturer of sensors also for both the medical and industrial segment. Unisensor manufactures the largest line “solid-state-pressure-sensor-catheters” for use in GI applications, Urological applications, Intracompartmental Pressure, ICP and many more. Unisensor Industrial Miniature Pressure Sensors measure both static and unsteady pressure distributions. Unisensor has production facilities in Switzerland and in the USA.
